Synopsis

The change of urban land use structure may bring a huge change in urbanization. There are three types of Paurashava in Bangladesh. This is a study on urban land use structure of ‘C' category Pourashava of the southwestern part of Bangladesh presenting the land use scenario of Chalna, Paikgasa and Morrelganj Pourashava. The study also represents the land use trend, change of land use element, decade wise urbanization rate, coefficient of urbanization etc. The urbanization of these three Pourashavas compared with the conventional land use model. On the basis of comparison a generalized land use model is prepare for the ‘C' category Pourashava which also may implacable in southwestern part of Bangladesh. This model represents the growth pattern, urbanization form and city expansion direction of the ‘C' category pourashava of the southwestern part of Bangladesh.

Shuvro Chandan Mahali, & Md. Monjurul Alam has passed their SSC in 2001 and HSC in 2003. They have completed Bachelor degree from Urban and Rural Planning Discipline, Khulna University, in 2008. Mahali, has completed his master's program in Development Studies and Alam has completed from Urban and Rural Planning, Khulna University.
