Synopsis
Dans ce travail, l'auteur passe en revue la pratique de l'ODL en Tanzanie, avec un accent particulier sur l'Université ouverte de Tanzanie (OUT). Il est divisé en trois parties. La partie 1 fournit une perspective historique sur la genèse et le développement de l'enseignement à distance en Tanzanie. La partie 2 examine de manière critique l'affirmation populaire concernant la convergence de l'enseignement à distance et de l'apprentissage conventionnel. La tendance est-elle réelle ou juste un mirage ? La partie 3 examine l'assurance qualité dans la pratique ODL à l'OUT en vue de démontrer les mesures appropriées pour s'attaquer aux « affaires inachevées » avant que l'institution ne puisse réaliser sa vision de devenir une université de classe mondiale dans la prestation d'une éducation de qualité pour tous.
