Synopsis
L'embargo commercial américain contre Cuba est presque aussi vieux que la révolution cubaine elle-même. Il a été imposé comme un instrument économique dans le but de renverser le régime de Castro. Néanmoins, le régime de Castro est resté au pouvoir depuis plus d'un demi-siècle. Motivé par des intérêts politiques et économiques, l'embargo commercial a renforcé le pouvoir du régime de Castro, le poussant à l'Union soviétique pendant les premières années de la Révolution. Aux États-Unis, l'embargo commercial contre Cuba a été une question politique importante pour les deux partis politiques. Reste à voir si l'embargo est levé avant ou après un changement politique à Cuba.
