Synopsis
La réussite scolaire est le prix pour lequel toutes les écoles sont misées. Mais en raison du rôle nuancé de l'enseignant et d'autres facteurs pédagogiques concurrents, de nombreux étudiants qui ont une maîtrise limitée de la langue d'enseignement ont des difficultés à faire face au matériel académique. Il en résulte des notes faibles, une perte de motivation et de confiance. Les auteurs de cette étude empirique ont ouvert une porte prometteuse pour la recherche en linguistique éducative. Ils abordent les problèmes fondamentaux, la racine des difficultés d'apprentissage et définissent « l'atteinte de la compétence » comme objectif de l'enseignement de l'anglais dans les écoles secondaires camerounaises. Ce livre devrait changer l'image de soi des professeurs d'anglais et la façon dont l'anglais est enseigné au Cameroun.
