Over the last few decades, people living all over the world now use mobile phones. Especially in this present decade, we see many people looking at their mobile phone display. Why is the action of looking at the mobile display so popular and what is people’s intention behind this action? Why do people tend to show their mobile display to their companion; in contrast, what do they feel if the companion put his/her mobile phone away? To answer such questions, this book interprets such actions as nonverbal behaviors/communications; it further categorizes them based on a communication theory, nonverbal communications, and cross-cultural theories. Further, the acceptance of eyeglass-type devices into the different cultures has been discussed. These analyses should help shed some light on such daily actions, and should especially be useful for professionals working in the following fields: mobile communications, nonverbal behavior/communications, cross-cultural communication studies, or any other else who are interested in behavioral science.
