Professor Zheng's major is geography and geographic information science. He has long been engaged in teaching and research on land information technology and its applications, land intensive use technology and engineering. He integrated both researches on optimization allocation and intensive use of urban land, and pioneered the in-depth exploration on the linkage between these two research facets. His published book entitled "Optimization of urban land allocation and evaluation of intensive use", which gives an account of this novel research method, has gained him international reputation. He is responsible for more than 40 national research program and published 11 monographs, over 200 papers with 40 indexed by SCI/EI and owned 5 invention patents. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including 8 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards, and "Scientific Chinese of 2010". As the executive director of National Society and expert of the commission, he also serves in the assessment panel for national and provincial-level awards.

Taschenbuch. Etat : Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -There are still insufficient general theories on the law of diminishing returns, despite 100 years of development. Starting with intensive variables theory, and by utilizing tools of spatiotemporal correlation and intensive functions, moving on to the integrated curve of diminishing returns and intensive theory, and even more importantly, using a combination of static and dynamic GIS, and integrating numerical calculation and spatial optimization, this book not only creates a unique theoretical framework and methodology for the evaluation of land use effect, but also addresses the long-standing lack of universal theories and methods on the law of diminishing returns. It will have far-reaching impacts on the development of this area and its practical application. The book covers a wide range fields in geography, land science, geographic information science, management science and related areas. Novel theoretical perspectives illustrated with many detailed case studies offer an easier way for readers to expand their research, ensuring that both academic and business audiences will benefit.Prof. Xinqi Zheng works at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), People's Republic of China. 88 pp. Englisch.
