Synopsis

Alcohol dependence is a major public health care problem which has impact on all aspects of health care delivery systems. Occurrences of Lapse and relapse in patient with alcohol dependence syndrome affected by many factor. Defects in Neuropsychological functioning is an important factor. Neuropsychological deficits in patients with alcohol dependence syndrome after uncomplicated withdrawal are well reported in literature, But neuropsychological sequel after complicated withdrawal is less studied phenomenon. The study aimed to compare neuropsychological functioning in patients with alcohol dependence after complicated and uncomplicated withdrawal. Study focused on neuropsychological sequel after complicated and uncomplicated withdrawal for 4 weeks.

Amit Kumar Soni, M.A., M.Phil, is Clinical Psychologist at National institute of Mental health and neurosciences Bangalore, India. He has completed his M.Phil, from Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi, India. He is registered Clinical Psychologist from Rehabilitation Council of India, and currently working in the field of Neuro-psychology.
