Synopsis

This inaugural study was initiated by the researcher as an active member of the local broadcast media in order to determine the role and capabilities of local broadcast media in disaster management in the province of Albay. The study aimed to foster its ability to help the Albay Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office to attain zero-casualty in times of disaster; draw an operational pooling model to be adopted by the local broadcast media in times of disaster, and to mainstream the local broadcast media in disaster risk reduction management.
