Synopsis

Self Compacted Concrete with Steel Fibre: There has always been a need of a guiding document in the field of Civil Engineering in "Self Compacted Concrete with Fibre". This book entitled "Self Compacted Concrete with Fibre- Effect of different type of steel fibres on mechanical properties of SCC" is an effort to fulfilling the needs of the civil engineers in a very versatile and lucid language. Emphasis has been laid on the mechanical properties like shear strength and torsion strength of SCC with steel fibres. Making concrete structures without vibration have been done in the past. For e.g. one of the method like placement of concrete under water is done by the use of tremie without vibration, but this method gains less strength & difficult to obtain consistent quality. Modern application of SCC is focused on high performance, better & more reliable & uniform quality. The use of steel fibres extends its possibilities, because they act as a bridge to retard their cracks propagation & improve several characteristics & properties of concrete. Our endeavor will definitely prove a guiding factor for the bright future of the budding civil engineers.
