Synopsis

This work depicts the state of development of a village in Cameroon called Matoh. The main activity in Matoh Village is the cultivation of cocoa cash crop which is demanded both nationally and internationally. Despite the time dedicated by the farmers to their farms, it is regrettable that most of them are still poverty stricken. Moreover, the area is almost unreachable during the heart of the rainy season due to the poor state of the roads. This, therefore, hinders the convey of chemicals to the farmers and also hampers the transportation of farm produce to nearby markets. Worst still, the enclave nature of the area has dampened the chances of the farmers being exposed to modern farming techniques. This work therefore, addresses the challenges faced by this agricultural community and call upon development stakeholders and people of good cheer to make their valuable contributions such that these farmers could valorise their farm produce and thus improve their well-being.
