Arsenic is extremely toxic to human beings. The toxicity leveled to human beings depends largely on the concentration and duration or length of exposure. In the present study generated information regarding issues of arsenic in food chain, through a study on oats and Lucerne crops towards arsenic accumulation in the edible parts. Arsenics toxicity increasing day by day in food web via food and fodder in animal as well as in human beings. The text book is very helpful for public, research scholar, teacher and scientist as research findings indicates mitigation through type of fodder, source and frequency of irrigation water.

Dr. M. Hedayetullah specializes in nutrient, crop production and Agronomic management in fodder crops for mitigating the arsenic in food web. He graduated from the H.N.B. Garhwal Univ. He obtained his M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy from Visva-Bharati. He secured his Ph.D.in Agronomy, BCKV. Awarded MANF,UGC & ICAR NET. Now working (Agronomist) in NABARD.
