This book covered the electrical characterization of polymeric thin films. The materials in this book are very useful for M.Sc. Physics students as well as who are starting their career in research especially in area of material science. Chapter-1 describes the different techniques of polymer film formation. Chapter-2 covers theoretical aspects of different conduction mechanisms. The chapter also gives the information about dielectric relaxations and some models which explain the relaxation processes in polymeric dielectric materials.Chapter-3 deals the information about atomic force microscopy (AFM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Chapter-4 displays the dielectric properties like dielectric constant, loss tangent, ac-conductivity of pure and doped PVK in frequency range 80 Hz to 5 MHz. Chapter-5 comprises of the dc-conductivity of ferrocene doped PVK samples.Chapter-6 describes the thermally stimulated discharge current (TSDC) studies for pure and ferrocene doped PVK.The slopes of initial rise plots give the activation energy of traps corresponding to peak for fixed poling temperature and poling field. Chapter-7 displays the study of spontaneous current emission (SCE).
