Rockfill dams are mostly constructed using blasted rockfill materials obtained by blasting rocks or alluvial rock fill materials collected from the riverbeds. In this paper, two modeled rockfill materials are investigated by using Medium triaxial cell. Drained triaxial tests have been conducted on various sizes of modeled rockfill materials used in the two dams. Tests data has been analyzed, Breakage factor and Shear strength parameter of rock fill material is studied and effects of size and confining pressure on breakage factor and Shear strength parameters have been studied using medium triaxial cell as already many researcher have conducted investigation using large triaxial cell.

The author was born in a tiny village Ukhli, District Hamirpur (HP) India. He obtained his AMIE in Civil Engineering,Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering from Thapper Institute and Phd in Civil Engineering from Punjab Technical university Jallander with specialization in rockfill material.
