Synopsis

Over the last two decades, the pharmaceutical scientists extensively probed in the area of colonic region for targeted drug delivery system. The present research is deals with the development of flurbiprofen colon targeted compression coated tablets to retard the drug release in the upper gastro intestinal system but progressively release in the colon. Combination of time dependent and pH sensitive approaches was suitable to target the flurbiprofen to colon. This work explains the detailed explanation on formulation, in vitro characterization, in vivo x-ray imaging studies and in vivo pharmacokinetics in human volunteers. This book, therefore, benefits the M. Pharm project students those who are interested to work in colon targeting area.

Biographie de l'auteur

Sateesh Kumar Vemula is an accomplished researcher, teacher in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has more than 20 research publications in several international and national journals, 12 presentations and he guided 12 M. Pharm students. He has an extensive research experience in Colon Specific drug delivery systems and Fast Disintegrating Tablets.
