Synopsis

In recent years, mobile learning (ML) became one of the major developing areas in the educational field. The availability of mobile technologies such as, laptops, mobile phones, smartphones and personal digital assistants (PDAs) has changed how learning occurs, facilitated different learning scenarios, and made materials and resources accessible to all learners. The power of mobile technology has begun to play a crucial role in student’ language learning and development in particular. A number of mobile apps help them to direct their own learning, as 21st century learners. Accordingly, mobile apps have the possibility to allow students to acquire words’ meanings, pronunciations, spellings and grammatical usage patterns according to their personal needs, levels and styles. This book, therefore, presents the relationship between the use of ML, students’ preferred learning styles and their perceptions of vocabulary development.
