Plumbago zeylanica L. is an important medicinal plant used in curing skin diseases, ring worm, it has antibacterial, and anti fungal, anti fertility and anti-tumor properties. Plumbagin is the active principal occurs in the roots of these plants it is cultivated in many countries.The effect of nitrogen fixing bacteria and treatment was studied on the growth and biochemical aspects of Plumbago zeylanica L. an important medicinal plant. The application of nitrogen fixer and PSB bioinoculant in agriculture, forestry and other land plant management system can reduce the cost and dependence on xenobiotic chemicals enhancing our ability to exist in harmony with our living planet. This suggests the application of nitrogen fixing and phosphate solubilizing microbial treatment as mixed culture is more beneficial to enhance the yield and active principles of pharmaceutically importance medicinal plant in addition impropriety the soil fertility.
