After the advent of the 'Green Revolution' and the introduction with it of chemical farming and high fertilizer response hybrids, several changes came about in agricultural practices.As a result, pest and diseases attacks on crops increased to a great extent.The chemical pesticides and fertilizers polluted the natural environment in various ways causing a lot of health hazards. the only solution to these myriad problems is to convert to organic methods of cultivation. Agro - climate conditions in India and our agricultural biodiversity are conducive to organic agriculture and, hence, offer tremendous scope for cultivation of a wide range of organic products.
