Le livre suivant �tudie des pratiques efficaces qui rendraient les syst�mes de gestion des d�chets am�ricains plus durables. Afin d'�valuer la durabilit� du syst�me de gestion, une feuille de pointage a �t� cr��e � partir de la litt�rature �crite. En cr�ant une feuille de score, les syst�mes de gestion des d�chets individuels sont en mesure de d�terminer s'ils sont effectivement durables et/ou ont besoin d'am�lioration. La ville de Chicago, Illinois, a �t� choisie comme ville � mesurer et s'est av�r�e avoir un avenir prometteur en tant que prototype de pratiques efficaces de gestion durable des d�chets.
