Au cours de l'étude, les pratiques existantes liées à la gestion des déchets biomédicaux ont été examinées sur la base d'entretiens intensifs, de visites sur le terrain et de questionnaires. La visite sur le terrain comprend l'observation des pratiques actuelles de gestion des déchets, l'échantillonnage des déchets, la caractérisation des déchets et des entretiens avec le personnel pour vérifier la fiabilité des informations fournies. Dans l'ensemble, les pratiques de gestion et de gestion des déchets étaient bonnes à l'hôpital. Les infirmières et le personnel sanitaire de service étaient conscients des dangers liés aux déchets infectieux. Le principal écart observé à l'hôpital était leur dernière salle de stockage. Il n'a pas été construit selon les normes requises car il a été construit par les Britanniques il y a près de 100 ans.
