Synopsis

The book contains twelve research papers in Open Channel Hydraulics. The relationship between different roughness parameters has been discussed. The characteristics of roughness materials and the properties of intermediate scale roughness and large scale roughness are emphasized. We observe that roughness materials are advantageous from the point of view of more mean depth of flow which will be used for irrigation and water distribution purpose. Also, the high velocity of flow is reduced to get the permissible value of velocity and erosion is prevented.

Dr. Birendra Kumar Singh is an Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, India. He has an extensive teaching experience of around 30 years at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has mentored students for several academic projects in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
