Ayant à l'esprit les civilisations anciennes, on peut dire que le Mexique est un pays méso-américain. En ce qui concerne la géographie physique, il s'agit d'un pays nord-américain. Mais en même temps, c'est le pays d'Amérique latine ayant à l'esprit la géographie humaine. Géopolitiquement, le Mexique est également un pays nord-américain.
