Synopsis
La pénurie d'informations dans le poivre aborigène a limité son utilisation comme matériel de reproduction. La présente étude examine la variabilité génétique et la nature de l'association des traits dans le poivre jaune Nsukka. Le poivre jaune Nsukka est un poivre aborigène cultivé presque exclusivement par les habitants de la zone agricole Nsukkka. L'étude a révélé l'existence d'un large éventail de variabilité génétique dans la population et a également identifié des traits qui sont positivement associés au rendement en fruits. Les informations générées dans cette étude peuvent aider les sélectionneurs à concevoir des études d'amélioration de la culture.
