Synopsis

In today’s globalized economy no country can survive without getting involved in business within and cross borders. So, to make business competitive, Intellectual Property is necessary. Intellectual Property regime is developing in Asia. Nepal is in the midst of a political transaction, and with low level of economic and social development, it has remained behind in the protection and enforcement of IPRs. In spite of being member of WTO and other International IP Instruments, Nepal have an inadequate legal regime. In the absence of proper domestic laws and negotiating skills on the part of the developing countries, Nepal is not able to benefit from favorable provisions inside the IP system. However, lack of adequate legal frame work is not only the concern, the inventor, per se are not aware of their rights, which means Intellectual Property awareness is minimum. With new democratic setup, country priority must be in developmental sectors, paving the way for FDI, high investments in research and development (R &D) production, will help in developing IP regime in Nepal. This book, therefore, looks at some aspects of intellectual property in Nepal.

His primary interest lies in field of Intellectual Property Law, Public interest, International relations.
