When the journalist performs below society's expectations, who should take the flak? Several studies in developed countries have proffered answers to this question. Such answers however beg the issue in relation to Africa. This book is an empirical examination of journalism training and journalists performance. He examines the challenges and prospects of the training system and shows why many journalism graduates are ill prepared for the job market.
