Ce livre est une tentative d'explorer la perspective historique du problème du Cachemire de 1947 à 1989, j'ai essayé d'analyser divers aspects liés au Cachemire et son statut de conflit, d'où il est né et différentes phases qu'il a traversées : question d'adhésion, implication de l'ONU, trahison et guerres, insurrection et génocide. Une entreprise inachevée de partition de l'Inde et une question géopolitique maintenant tirée dans des milliers de directions étaient devenues un problème le plus volatile non seulement du sous-continent mais du monde entier.
