Synopsis
L'industrie de la construction en Afrique est connue pour un échec élevé des projets résultant en partie de l'adoption de stratégies d'approvisionnement inappropriées. Les défis susmentionnés, entre autres, ont amené les pays européens et asiatiques à adopter la stratégie d'approvisionnement intégrée. Au Ghana, plus de 90 % des projets sont achetés en utilisant la stratégie traditionnelle d'approvisionnement en matière de construction d'offres (DBB). Ce livre passe en revue la littérature sur les systèmes d'approvisionnement adoptés au Ghana, l'émergence du système d'approvisionnement Design and Build (DB) en Europe, ses mérites et ses inconvénients par rapport au système d'approvisionnement traditionnel DBB adopté en Afrique. Basé sur des études ethnographiques sur le terrain, le livre passe en revue la préparation de l'industrie en Afrique à adopter le système DB comme alternative à la DBB pour les projets futurs. Le défi vient cependant du fait que plus de 90 % des projets exécutés en Afrique sont directement financés par le gouvernement central. La question est maintenant : dans quelle mesure le principal acteur de développement est-il prêt à adopter la DB en Afrique ?
