Synopsis

A study was conducted to assess the magnitude of heterosis and combining ability in the line x tester cross material involving 24 hybrids generated by crossing eight lines with three testers and one commercial hybrid check (Hybrid Mahyco-28) in okra during Summer-2014 at Regional Horticultural Research Station, ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry, N.A.U., Navsari. In this experiment, significant heterosis and combining ability were found for most of the traits.

Miss Himani Patel completed her M.Sc. from Navsari Agricultural University. She was awarded Gold medal by the University for obtaining the highest OGPA in B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture in 2013. She has to her credit 2 full length papers & 4 popular articles published and 24 papers presented in international / national conferences.
