Synopsis
Ce livre concentre la théorie et la signification du son visuel qui peut être une solution pour autonomiser les personnes aveugles ou malvoyantes. Visual Sound est un système qui vise à aider ceux qui souffrent de basse vision et peut-être même ceux qui sont aveugles à « voir » à nouveau. Les appareils courants sont utilisés pour réduire les coûts du système afin d'augmenter l'accessibilité. Ceux-ci incluent un ordinateur portable, un appareil photo numérique ou une webcam et un casque stéréo. L'appareil photo capture des images qui sont transmises à l'ordinateur portable. L'ordinateur portable contiendra le logiciel Visual Sound qui encodera l'image dans un langage sonore. Ceci est ensuite transmis à l'utilisateur via le casque stéréo.
