L'arrivée de l'ère de l'information a changé beaucoup de choses. La profession de traduction a également subi des changements importants. Maintenant, pour être un traducteur compétent, il est indispensable de maîtriser l'informatique et de garder ses compétences en technologies de l'information à jour. Ce travail visait à caractériser l'état actuel de compétence instrumentale parmi les traducteurs médicaux cubains. Cependant, nous avons rapidement découvert que les modèles disponibles dans la littérature n'étaient pas adéquats à cet effet. Pour cette raison, un nouveau modèle de compétence instrumentale est proposé. Cette recherche a des contributions à la fois théoriques et pratiques. La proposition d'un nouveau modèle complet de compétence instrumentale ajoute à la théorie actuelle dans ce domaine. Et la praticité est donnée par le fait que les résultats de cette recherche peuvent aider à envisager de nouvelles approches dans les cours de traduction de premier et de troisième cycle en ce qui concerne le développement de cette compétence. Ce livre devrait être particulièrement utile pour la communauté des traducteurs ainsi que pour les professeurs en charge de la conception des programmes de cours de traduction.
