Synopsis
Dans ce livre, l'auteur commence par un aperçu du rôle que l'éducation à distance a joué dans le développement des ressources humaines avec une référence particulière à la formation des enseignants. Il examine également la justification de l'introduction de l'enseignement à distance au Ghana. Il explique le concept d'éducation à distance et ses concepts connexes et souligne le fait que dans les pays développés et en développement, l'enseignement à distance a été utilisé pour accroître l'accès à l'éducation pour un grand nombre de personnes qui, autrement, n'auraient pas eu la possibilité de bénéficier de l'éducation formelle. Il va plus loin en discutant du soutien des apprenants dans l'enseignement à distance en mettant en évidence la justification et la base théorique pour fournir un soutien aux apprenants dans l'enseignement à distance. À l'aide de cette discussion théorique, l'auteur explique enfin comment deux des universités publiques du Ghana, qui gèrent à la fois des programmes résidentiels et à distance, offrent un soutien à leurs apprenants à distance.
