The entity-relationship approach is now recognized as one of the most important tools in the database design tool kit. It is incorporated in various forms, into all major CASE tools. Yelena I. Anikina is an Associate Professor of Software Engineering at Southwest State University, Russia. Her research and teaching interests include database systems, software design, programming languages,cognitive science, e-learning and blended learning.
