Synopsis
Les tortues d'eau douce sont présentes dans presque tous les principaux systèmes fluviaux, lacs et étangs. La population de tortues diminue en raison de la surexploitation et de la destruction de l'habitat. Les tortues sont également tuées pour la viande et leurs œufs sont consommés comme nourriture. En outre, la pollution et d'autres perturbations causées par l'homme et ses animaux domestiques sont également responsables de leur déclin.
