Much has been talked about the growing need of preschools in India, and the importance of growth and development within the period of 2-6 yrs of age, through policies and developmental plans. Yet the researches are lacking in the field of holistic development of the students, practices carried out in preschools, the curriculum of preschools and the materials used for various activities carried out for the development of different domains. Realizing the importance of the early years of the child and the need to find out the actual status of preschools; this book focuses on Physical set up and equipments, Profile of Principal and Teaching staff, Admission and enrolment procedure for students, Selection criteria and training of teachers, Practices carried out for holistic development of the child and identification of the various problems of preschool. A survey on the preschools was conducted and the analysis might help not only the policy makers, preschool owners, teachers, principals, in identifying the loopholes and overcoming them but also the parents, in knowing what to look for in the preschool, while sending their kids into them.
