This study investigates the attitudes of Saudi EFL teachers towards integrating technology, in general, and Web 2.0 applications to promote collaborative autonomous language learning, in particular, in English language courses. The findings revealed that English teachers strongly believe that recent technology supports language learning if used properly and according to current teaching approaches; however, several teachers did not know about Web 2.0 tools such as wikis and how could such tools be used in teaching language basic skills. The paucity of pre-service and in-service teacher training courses is deemed to be one major reason behind the lack of knowledge.
