Summer monsoon is the most dominant weather system in India. It is very essential to examine the impact of climate change on the summer monsoon. Most of the climate change studies over India are mainly done using GCMs with resolution of the order of few hundred kilometers. It is hoped that a regional model at higher resolution than a global model may provide better climate change information at regional scale. This book is based on the use of a widely used ICTP RegCM for the study of Indian summer monsoon in the past, present and future. The book has been divided into six chapters. Chapter I is based on the literature survey on climate change and monsoon studies. In chapter II, the capability of RegCM in simulating the circulation and precipitation patterns over India across all the seasons. The simulated rainfall has been examined in detail over six homogenous zones of India in chapter III. The dependency of simulated summer monsoon fields on the domain size has been examined in chapter IV. For studies related to future projections in RCP4.5 and 8.5 for the period 2010 – 2100 have been discussed in chapter V. The last chapter summarizes the studies carried out in chapters II to V.
