Synopsis

This book consists of three main self-contained chapters that all deal with estimating the non-market economic values or benefits of proposed biodiversity conservation programs in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Chapter 2 makes an effort to estimate the total economic values of proposed biodiversity conservation program in U Minh Thuong National Park using the approach of Contingent Valuation method, while Chapter 3 evaluate biodiversity attributes of proposed biodiversity conservation program in U Minh Thuong National Park using the approach of Choice Modeling. Finally, Chapter 4 applies the method of Choice Experiment to identify consumer preferences for agricultural products considering the value of biodiversity conservation in Tram Chim National Park.

Biographie de l'auteur

Huynh Viet Khai has received Ph.D. and researched as postdoctoral fellow in Kyushu University, Japan. Now, he is a lecturer at College of Economics, Can Tho University, Vietnam. Dr. Khai has written over twenty scholarly journal articles, two books, and seven book chapters in the areas of agricultural, environmental and resource economics.
