Synopsis

It is my pleasure to introduce this book to the plant tissue culture specialists. This book is considered as a successful attempt to propagate Rangpur lime with tissue culture technique by the use of direct organognesis where produced plants are true-to-type. Plant tissue culture, or the aseptic culture of cells, tissues, organs, and their components under defined physical and chemical conditions in vitro, is an important tool in both basic and applied studies as well as in commercial application. German Botanist Haberlandt, the father of plant tissue culture, conceived the concept of cell culture in 1902. Nowadays, plant tissue culture is considered one part of four parts of plant biotechnology additional to genetic engineering, DNA finger print and nano technology where all of them occupy large interest globally. This book contains some chapters, figures and pictures, where all of these contents draw final picture of successful story of tissue culture of Rangpur lime.
