The present monograph provides an analysis of the Cycle of Internalized Learning (CIL), a model for meaningful learning that can be used with students with and without special needs. The CIL model can serve as a guide for curriculum planning in a host of content areas. Chapters 1-3 expand on the theoretical background regarding meaningful learning and the development of the CIL model within this context, chapters 4-5 provide a detailed description of evidence-based research studies that sought to validate the CIL model and finally, a summary of meaningful learning versus traditional teaching is provided.

Prof. Shunit Reiter has been professor of Special Education, Faculty of Education at Haifa University since 1976 until her retirement in 2013.
