This book is based on antidiabetic herbal formulation. Diabetes mellitus is the most common endocrine disorder, affecting 200 million individuals worldwide. Despite the use of advanced synthetic drugs for the treatment, use of herbal remedies is gaining higher importance because of synthetic drugs have drawbacks and limitations.Antidiabetic herbal formulations (AHF) are considered to be more effective for the management of diabetes. The study was undertaken to develop the active antidiabetic polyherbal formulation that could be active against diabetes. In this study various extracts and fractions of Momordica charantia, Eugenia jambolana, Ziziphus maurantiana and Acacia catechu were tested. On the basis of results the combination of Momordica charantia Linn. Eugenia Jambolana Linn., Ziziphus mauritiana Lam. and Acacia catechu Willd. Shows significant hypoglycemic activity. this polyherbal formulation improves biochemical parameters Blood glucose,Cholesterol,Triglycerides, Creatinine, Hemoglobin, glycosated hemoglobin.
