The book is headlined «Peculiarities of Welsh and Scottish dialects in the works of Dylan Thomas, Robert Burns and Walter Scott». The relevance of the book is determined by the overall interest in the phonological, lexical and stylistic features of existing British dialects represented on the territory of Britain. It gives an opportunity to learn more about the history of the English language and its influence on the literature of various historical periods. The hypothesis of this study is as follows: the specificity of using British dialects is characterized by the use of specific linguistic features depending on the area of its usage. The main area of objectification of British dialects is the linguistic level represented in the works of British authors. The purpose of this study is to analyze the main peculiarities of Welsh and Scottish dialects in the works of Dylan Thomas, Robert Burns and Walter Scott while it gives an opportunity to find out the main differences and similarities between these two dialects presented on the territory of Britain.
