The action research at Hawassa Polytechnic College in Ethiopia aimed to enhance knowledge management (KM) practices to foster innovation and improve learning outcomes. The study identified significant gaps, including low awareness of KM tools, inadequate training, and a poor culture of knowledge sharing among staff. To address these issues, researchers employed a descriptive survey method, gathering data from 326 staff members through surveys and interviews. They proposed several strategies, including establishing a Knowledge Management Center (KMC), implementing comprehensive training programs, integrating digital collaboration tools, and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing through incentives and mentorship initiatives. The implementation of these strategies led to notable improvements at the college. The research demonstrated that the actions taken effectively addressed the gaps in KM practices, positioning the college as a leader in innovative training in Ethiopia. The study emphasizes the need for ongoing evaluation and refinement of KM strategies to sustain improvements and adapt to the evolving educational landscape.
