In wireless communication and biomedical applications, uses of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters are always preferred as they effectively reduce the aliasing effect between the two adjacent channels as well as de-noising purposes. However, FIR filters with very small transition width are required in almost all kind of modern signal processing applications and so various techniques are implemented to achieve the same. The Frequency Response Masking (FRM) approach is one such effective technique which has been used widely for reducing the complexity of extremely sharp filters. This book is concerned with designing sharp low pass FIR filter implementing improved multistage FRM structure using MATLAB and also demonstrates the benefit of this design. Various simulated graphs have been included in order to illustrate the proposed approach and also to compare the obtained result to that of existing filter design methods.
