Synopsis

This book explores the use of zero-valent iron (Fe0) as reactive medium for treatment of water contaminated with hexavalent chromium. Zero-valent iron (Fe0) based permeable reactive barriers(PRBs) have been recognized as a viable and cost-effective technology for in-situ remediation of groundwater contaminated with redox active inorganics (such as chromate, nitrate, and uranate) as well as chlorinated organics. This book provides an insight about the reaction kinetics, impact of pH on reduction of Cr(VI), and effect of other anions on the reduction of hexavalent chromium by zero valent iron.

Rajneesh Kr.Srivastava,PhD scholar,Dept.of Environmental Science and Engineering ,ISM Dhanbad.He has completed M.Tech under Dr.Alok Sinha,Associate Professor,Dept.of Environmental Science & Engineering,ISM Dhanbad. Dr. Sinha has guided 17 M.Tech students and 3 PhDs. His research field is remediation of groundwater and have 21 publication
