Synopsis

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2015 in the subject Psychology - Personality Psychology, grade: 10.0, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, language: English, abstract: Gender ideology plays an important role in human behaviour, and therefore its assessment, not only in particular areas but considering a wide variety of situations concerning both public and private life, is necessary. This study presents the Spanish version of the questionnaire developed in 1996 by Prasad and Baron, a tool for measuring gender-role cognitions, and analyses its psychometric properties in a sample of 233 Spanish undergraduate students. The questionnaire showed a 3-dimension structure -Equality, Belief and Principles- which coincided partially with the theoretical original one. I am working on my PhD in Health Psychology with a thesis on the sex/gender system in the medical act, while I complete my final medical internship. I also majored in Psychology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (w/Honours), specializing in Clinical and Health Psychology. I hold a Postgraduate Degree in Integrative Psychology by the University of Girona, a Masters in Clinical Research by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and a Masters in Gender Studies, Intersectionality and Change by the Linköpings Universitet (Sweden) [ongoing]. I have received formal training in meditation and SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Human Rights) in Barcelona and in Lund (Sweden). I have been nominated for the National Higher Education Excellence Awards (2012) and the Prince of Girona Foundation Awards in the category of Scientific Research (2014 and 2015), and I have been awarded several national snd international research grants and scholarships, including a Catalan FI-DGR 2014, a Spanish FPU 2013, a Nova Domus 2015 at Dalhousie University (Canada) and a collaboration scholarship at the Institute of Neurosciences (2009). I am part of the Body Image Evaluation and Intervention Unit at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Gender and Health Promotion Studies Unit (GAHPS) and the European Union Centre of Excellence (EUCE) at Dalhousie University (Canada). I collaborate as a regular contributor to various media. I co-founded and am currently President of the the Adalet Association, a non-profit organization that works for youth's international integration and empowerment, therefore contributing to the structuring and cohesion of the European citizenship; and I am the director and editor of the Adalet Magazine, a space for the exchange of ideas, skills and points of view between young experts and an educational tool in favor of scientific literacy.
