Professor Christie, D.D., an intention that was frustrated by his lamented death. In view of his editorial labours, Dr. Christie had collected a considerable number of dates and references, and these memoranda were considerately placed at the service of the Club by his representatives. The Editor, however, has been unable to make, with one exception, noticed in its proper place, the least use of these jottings, from their disjointed and fragmentary nature. Except correcting manifest clerical errors and introducing such punctuation as seemed best fitted to educe the writers meaning, the Editor has endeavoured to present Wodrow stext verbatim et literatim. The thanks of the Club are hereby rendered to the Senatus of the University of Glasgow for allowing with courteous readiness the transcript of these Selections to be made from the Wodrow MSS.
