Synopsis

André Rieu was born in Maastricht. He comes from a family of musicians and grew up with classical music. His father was the chief conductor of the Limburg Symphony Orchestra LSO, where André played as a violinist until 1989. He received his first violin lessons at the age of five, later studying at the conservatories of Liège and Maastricht, as well as with the Hungarian violinist André Gertler in Brussels. Since the mid-1990s, Rieu has been traveling the globe with his "Johann Strauss Orchestra," captivating audiences.
