Grounded in analog photography, Oppenheim's disparate bodies of work merge technique and material with historical and social content
Rooted in historical photographic practices, New York-based artist Lisa Oppenheim's (born 1975) portfolio ranges from documents of art looted or destroyed by the Nazi regime, a botany of trees and a speculative portrait of the Luxembourgish American photographer Edward Steichen.

Lisa Oppenheim (*1975, New York) lives and works in New York City and holds degrees from Brown University, Bard College, and the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten. She is represented by Tanya Bonakdar Gallery in New York and Los Angeles and The Approach in London.
