Synopsis

Henry Moore (30 July 1898 - 31 August 1986) is most celebrated for his monumental outdoor sculptures in many major cities around the world. Lesser known are the sculptor's plaster pieces, which represent an important stage in the development of his work leading up to the final bronze sculptures. Moore's sculptures are presentedalongside a generous selection of his drawings and carvings made during the last decades of his life. Commentary by leading scholars from the Henry Moore Foundation offers Moore's audience a deeper understanding of the artist's approach to his work and the evolution of his worldview.
