Après avoir étudié l'art à la Sorbonne, elle s'est spécialisée dans l'histoire du costume du 18e et 19e siècle. Auteur de nombreux ouvrages sur l'histoire du costume et commissaire d'expositions, elle vit et travaille à Paris.
