Paul Levitz est un passionné de comics et a travaillé comme éditeur pour The Comic Reader, qui publiait, en particulier, les histoires de Batman; il y a signé plus de 300 épisodes, notamment une série remarquée de la Légion des super-héros. Il a travaillé 38 ans pour DC Comics, dont il a fini président et directeur éditorial. En 2010, il est retourné à l'écriture pour une nouvelle série d'épisodes de la Légion des superhéros, entre autres projets. Son dernier roman graphique s'intitule Brooklyn Blood.
